State Benefits (CCAP) Info in West Town

Like most state-licensed childcare programs, Blossom Leaders Academy is happy to accept Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) benefits. We can assist parents with the provider portions of the application for CCAP benefits.

What is the Illinois Child Care Assistance Program?

In Illinois, families who meet certain guidelines may be eligible for assistance paying for qualified childcare services. These benefits are available through the Child Care Assistance Program, also known as CCAP. You might be eligible for these benefits if you have a child or children under 13 years old, and at least one of the following is true:

  • You work and meet income guidelines, or
  • You receive TANF benefits and are pursuing schooling, training, or other work-related activities, or
  • You are a parent under 20 years old who is enrolled in high school, a GED program, or an alternative school, or
  • You are enrolled in another approved education, college, or training program

Frequently Asked Questions About CCAP

How Can I Apply for CCAP Benefits?

The Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCR&R) serving your county can provide you with an application for CCAP. In Cook County, the CCR&R is Illinois Action for Children (IAFC).

Will CCAP Benefits Cover the Full Cost of Childcare?

No. Every family enrolled in CCAP will be required to make a co-payment to help pay a portion of childcare costs. The amount of the co-payment is determined by family size and income.

Will I Have to Choose a Childcare Provider Approved by the State?

Any facility or provider offering “legal care” can accept CCAP payments. This includes all state-licensed childcare centers, as well as some other types of care arrangements. Providers must also pass a background check.
